IsKarGu (Isda Karne Gulay)
It’s our lunch today, I been tweaking this blog overnight and woke up late at around 2:30 PM and the usual thing is to find something to cook in the fridge. We had this pumpkin and string beans and I came up with this Dinengdeng-style dish. I consider it as a healthy dish because it has Fish, Meat and Vegetable…
Ingredients:
400 grams small Galunggong
200 grams pork cut into small pieces
300 grams pumpkin or kalabasa
an ample amount of string beans cut into 3″ long
1 tbsp. oil
1 small tomato
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp. black pepper
1 pinch of sugar (msg. substitute)
1 teaspoon salted shrimp fry or alamang
1 1/2 cup of water
fish sauce or patis to augment the taste if desired
-fry and salt the fish and set aside
-oil the pan and cook the pork until it’s crispy then add garlic, onion & tomatoes.
- add in the water then the pumpkin & string beans, simmer and cook for 4-5 mins.
- flavor it with alamang, sugar and black pepper. Augment the taste with fish sauce (patis)
Serve while it’s hot..and put the fried fish on the side for presentation.

This is one hell of a dish! Your imagination is truly a culinary delight, kudos to you! One of my favorites!
