Pears in Sugar Syrup
On that same day I purchased those recipe booklets. I’ve got my eye on those cheap pears on the rack and instantly an idea came into my mind, mmm how about a dessert ala BBC food? Grab a few pieces and go…Actually I don’t know the exact procedure how to do it but with a wild imagination and common cooking sense I bravely tried. Tip in making this? “Minatamis na saging” (Plantain Banana [saba] in sugar syrup).
Ingredients:
8 pcs. medium-size pears
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups of water
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1 pc. orange
small cinnamon stick
red food colouring ( 2-3 drops)
Procedure:
-peel the pears while keeping the stalk/stem (tangkay) intact.
-in a saucepan, mix sugar and water and bring it to boil then add the rest of the ingredients and let it simmer for about 15 mins in medium heat.
-Serve chilled
Tip: For later consumption, sterilized a glass container and keep it on the fridge. Consume within 3-5 days. (pears might become soggy if it stays longer)

Hey! Lovely picture here huh!!! Really looks great! I love pears, got a post “stewed pear” under desserts of my “kitchen journal”
