Squids with Vegetables

Filed under: Fish & Seafoods - lutongdisyerto @ 4:05 pm

lutongdisyerto.blogsome.comSeafood price here nowadays were soaring high. That is why I’m making meals on a budget. Two large squids and a little bit of veggies will do. Usually we encounter Squid in form of adobo, daing, stuffed with minced meat and sometimes grilled and stuffed with tomato, onion, ginger & pepper salsa. This is adodo-inspired dish but the taste is totally different and more likely an authentic Oriental dish.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp. oil
2 pcs. large squids (about 400g.)
1 stalk of celery (cut diagonally)
1 small carrot (julienne)
4 pcs. baby corn (cut into halves lengthwise)
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 small onion chopped
3 tbsp.soy sauce
1 tsp. honey or sugar
1 tsp.lemon juice
1 tsp.cornflour
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. sesame seed oil
1 tbsp. thai chili sauce
salt
pepper

Procedure:

-cut squids into rings and squares. Marinate it in soy sauce, thai chili sauce, sesame seed oil, sugar and lemon juice for 10-15 mins.

-prepare corn flour, salt & pepper in a 1/2 cup of water

-sauté garlic and onion then add carrots, celery and young corn. Stir-fry over a high heat for a minute then add the squid with its marinade, stir and toss for a minute then add the water and corn flour mixture until it thickened. This procedure is less than 5 minutes and be sure to cook the squid not more than 3 minutes or it will become rubbery.

-Serve immediately

  1. We do visit this blog all the time. It is fun to see how you guys still manage to cook all-time favorite Pinoy viands even if you live in the Middle East. Well, ME is still Asia so I suppose certain ingredients can still be sourced somewhere.

Our problem with reading your blog, however, rests on the grammar aspect. Tenses, mostly, but the sentence construction are all good.

Well, despite that, please keep up the good work and welcome to Lasang Pinoy!
