Lasang Pinoy 6: Tuna flakes with Crackers
I remember my college days when it comes to this particular pulutan recipe. A bottle of Bilog or Ginebra Gin will make my tightly-budgeted Saturday night pass away without a hassle. While singing to the strums of the guitar and with a good “tapang-usa” (tapat na usapan) or good conversation, we’re ready to call it a night. The original recipe is just plain Century Tuna with Skyflakes, onion and calamansi but this is a my tweaked version. To my cousins whom are my barkada and best friends, I really miss you guys!! Tama na yan’ inuman na, Hoy pare ko tumagay ka!

Ingredients:
can of tuna in sunflower oil (185 grams.)
6 pcs. white crackers (Skyflakes)
1 meduim red onion finely chopped
3/4 cup canned garbanzos
a handful of fresh chopped parsley (if not available substitute it with young onions)
1 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1-2 pcs. of chopped red chilies (optional)
-Mix lemon juice, olive oil, salt, sugar and black pepper.
-Break the crackers into bits.
-In a bowl toss lighlty the crackers, onion, tuna (including oil), parsley and finally add the liquid mixture. Sprinkle the chopped chilies on top.
-Serve immediately before the crackers become soggy.
-Tagay na!!

Iba ‘to ah! Tagay na pare! Thanks for joining LP6.

You’re a professional chef, right? Such gorgeous, gorgeous food presentation. A harassed mom like me can’t do that. LOL

naku, hindi pang tabi-tabi yung food dito ha. i like nice presentations too kaya lang in my house kasi, most of the time, the garnish goes uneaten. Parang, eh kasi decor lang yan eh. Then my husband would say, wag na nga mag-decor sa food kasi sayang lang pera. blah blah blah so, you know… hehehe
