Sweet & Spicy Chicken Feet

lutongdisyerto.blogsome.comThis is more Asian and if your from the Philippines surely you’re familiar with this stuff. Ingeniously Filipinos named this “Adidas” after the shoe brand, well it’s somehow related? This is a popular street food and a delicacy, some like it inihaw/grilled or adobong pinatuyuan, great as viand and as well as pulutan (appetizer). This recipe is an Adobo but I’m tweaking it up to give it more character, here’s how to make them easily.

Ingredients:
500 grams. cleaned and trimmed chicken feet
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
medium-size onion finely chopped
2 thumb-size ginger thinly sliced
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. oyster sauce
2-3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1-2 tsp. sugar
1-2 fresh chillies
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
spring onions
salt
pepper
water

-sauté garlic, onion and ginger in oil until it is golden brown.
-add the chicken feet, water just enough to cover it and add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and chopped chilies. Cover and simmer until the feet are tender.
-add the balsamic vinegar and simmer it for a couple of minutes then add freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste (careful because the soy sauce is already salty)
-serve with chopped spring onion and chillies on top.

makes 2-3 servings
